Goal:
Record live played sessions with (local) artists in one day. These recordings are there to promote the local musicians and connect them with each other. Doing what they like to do and can do best. Playing and performing songs live.
This is an extension of the Jam sessions @ de Stamboom on Wednesday night, where the 4 guys got to know each other.

The team
Terry:
Originally from Bristol, England, Terry moved to The Hague in 2015 and quickly became established on the Dutch music scene. Running the weekly jazz jam session at “De Regentenkamer” in The Hague (something he did for almost 6 years) gave the possibility of building a large network of musical contacts. Terry’s first love was the Bass and while he still plays from time to time, his focus is on the drums and has been for 20 years or more.
He has played all over the UK with top tribute and theatre acts before moving into the jazz and big band world, and this is what he’s best known for in The Netherlands. As well as holding down the drum chair in the West Coast Big Band and Big Band Blast for a number of years, he’s also led his own jazz focussed groups such as “Big Knight Out!” And appeared alongside the cream of Dutch jazz talent.
More recently, Terry can be seen with acts such as “Celebrating Amy” (As seen on SBS6’s 'The Tribute') and The Hague’s 'Wilde Kind'.

Jasper:
Guitar player and composer Jasper Kuper moved to The Hague in 1998. He has been active in numerous bands and music projects, currently with his groove-jazz quartet 'Tracin’ Tacy' and 'Celebrating Amy', the Dutch Amy Winehouse tribute. Jasper started playing the classical guitar at age 11, but it was switching to the electric guitar a few years later that really started the love for music and the guitar in particular.
Visiting jam sessions has always been a great way to meet other musicians and get involved in diverse musical projects for Jasper. He was a session leader of the weekly jam in café 'Bebop' (Delft) for quite a few years. But it was the jam session at 'De Regentenkamer' in The Hague that established him more firmly in the local music scene.
Jasper followed lessons with Olaf Tarenskeen, Axel Hagen en Kai von Rosenberg. Jasper graduated from DJAM, a private jazz school situated in Amsterdam. In 2020 Jasper recorded the album 'This Is Eva La Voix' with singer Eva Lavooij
(https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnff7LuT_PJ9PNwtpnDCgEw
and available on all other streaming platforms, too) for which he composed all the music and played all the guitar parts. Jasper can also be seen with the West Coast Big Band’s soul-show, the trio Green Groove and of course almost every Wednesday at 'De Stamboom' jam session.

Peter:
He lives in The Hague since 2017 after living in Tilburg, where he started to play bass when he joined his friend's band. With no clue, he started playing, but got the bug really fast and started taking lessons and play in a wide range of genres. From rock covers to metal originals, bringing his music with bands from local stages to international ones. Meanwhile, he started to get interested in the recording parts and had one of the first digital 16 track studios' in Tilburg. Starting a band with some new musicians and recorded that music, what brought in a string of successes. From becoming 'Demo of the month' in a national magazine for musicians, to a record deal, national Radio and TV shows and playing on big festivals in the Netherlands. After this journey, he bought his home studio and founded the band Awash, in which he still plays and records. The third Album comes out on April 22nd, 2023 where 5 out of 9 songs are produced and mixed by him. https://www.youtube.com/@awashmusic
Music productions are becoming more of a thing in the last few years, not only his bands, but other artists as well. And supporting the local music scene is a fun thing to be able to do so, too. https://www.youtube.com/@perfectsoundsunleashed
He has always supported other acts from around Tilburg/Breda and visited their shows whenever he could. Nowadays, he goes to Café 'De Stamboom' in The Hague on Wednesday nights, and plays as often as possible on stage with everyone there. And there he met the other people from Shepperd Street Sessions. Teaming up with
Terry, Tom and Jasper for this project is for the love of local musicians and of course music. Terry offers a place with recording possibility's. Tom and Jasper are happily joining the sessions when needed. When needed, everyone is okay with stepping down and letting others play.
Peter is asked to help out with the technical part (pushing record and stop on a diverse range of apps) and takes it home, where he takes time to mix the songs, and video edit a bit on the side. When he isn't doing this, he records and mixes other musicians. When needed, he can provide coaching, on almost any topic that musicians encounter. From writers-block to song- and mix feedback, from equipment preparation to signal chain while recording. Give songwriters without a band, the chance to get a full band arrangement and recordings. Or just recording a (cover) song for your own pleasure.
